May 3, 2016The annual Winship Cancer Institute's gala recently set a record for the most money raised during a single event in Emory University's history, raising more than $1.3 million.
Proceeds will benefit cancer research at Winship, including grants that focus on the medical prevention, diagnosis and treatment of various cancers, to grants to analyze issues like quality of life for cancer survivors, patients and their families.
Previously, the highest fundraising amount raised at Emory was $1.25 million for Alzheimer’s disease research.
