Today is the last day to register for VeloCity Atlanta, a special cycling event to raise money for Grady Memorial Hospital.

On Saturday, May 5th, VeloCity Atlanta, Atlanta's first-ever fundraising ride benefiting Grady Hospital, will take place.

Four routes -- in a range of lengths -- will all start from the field of Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The 25, 50, and 100-mile routes will be led by police escort for the first several miles and then follow rules of the road, with numerous vehicles to ensure full support of cyclists. The 5-mile City Ride will be on a closed course through downtown Atlanta. Registration ends tonight at midnight.

VeloCity is not just a ride, it’s a celebration that includes a pre-ride festival with live music on Friday (May 4) as well as plenty of food and drinks before and after the ride on Saturday – all at Georgia International Plaza, just steps outside of the stadium. All riders receive an inaugural VeloCity t-shirt, goody bag, access to all the events, food and drinks (including adult beverages for those over 21).

For the 5-mile ride, registration for kids 13 and under is $10 and $25 for adults. Registration for the 50-mile-long and 100-mile-long routes is $125.

Cox Media Group, parent company of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, is one of the sponsors of the cycling event.
