For a recent survey, approximately 1,000 smartphone and tablet users from five countries across Europe were asked whether they would rather give up mobile web access or alcohol for one week.

The results? The majority of respondents, 58 percent, would give up alcohol to maintain mobile web access.

Further questions revealed that 50 percent of those surveyed would also give up coffee and movies before losing connection to the mobile web.

CNET reports that in a similar study of Americans in 2011, 70 percent of those surveyed would give up alcohol before they would give up their mobile devices.
