Take a trip under the sea — and back in time. The Georgia Aquarium will party like it’s 1999 with a Y2K-themed party on March 20.

While the Georgia Aquarium may be among the best kid-friendly destinations, this event is for adults only.

Attendees are encouraged to break out their best late-’90s, early-2000s garb — think, denim, flannel, chunky sweaters.

Experience the aquarium while also enjoying throwback tunes and cocktail specials.

There will be full-service bars, a live DJ and access to all of the Aquarium’s galleries.

The event, which gets underway at 7 p.m. will feature Wolfgang Puck dining options available for purchase beginning at 9 p.m.

General admission tickets are $29.95 for members of the aquarium and $39.95 for non-members. There are also VIP and sleepover ticket packages available.

Tickets will not be available at the door.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
