Southern Sunshine's furniture and decor blends sleek modernity with rustic charm.

Based in Villa Rica, Southern Sunshine specializes in using reclaimed and natural wood to create tables, kitchenware and wall hangings that are both functional and decorative.

What started as a one-time project to make a coffee table, quickly turned into a business, as family and friends began to request furniture.

"We work with a lot of local people that tear down trees and take down old homes, so it's always unique to learn about where each piece we use is coming from," said Ashley Bodi of Southern Sunshine.

Southern Sunshine now makes coffee tables, side tables, end tables and dining tables, in addition to a wide array of kitchen tools, doors and wall plaques, all by hand.

All wood used is chosen for quality and color before being sanded, stained and sealed for extra durability. Table legs are reclaimed from vintage furniture or made by a local metalworking company.

Southern Sunshine offers a variety of different styles, or customers can specify their own colors and dimensions with a custom order.
