July 2, 2015

Brides looking for a bargain wedding have a chance to score big with an auction hosted by Atlanta-based U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).

The “Down the Aisle” extravaganza is an online auction that runs through July 9. It features nearly 3,000 wedding-related items, including wedding gowns, fine jewelry, tuxedos, formal dresses and more. Retail furnishings are also part of the auction.

The items are being sold on behalf of the U.S. Marshals Service, which recovered the merchandise from an Alaskan bridal shop that was a front for criminal activity. Marshals confiscated the inventory and now brides can get it for a steal.

Some of the single wedding gowns have starting bids as low as $46. Other gowns and items are being offered as a group. Some of the designers are listed as unknown, but the descriptions offer detailed information on sizing and fabrication of the gowns.

In addition to dresses, there are Louis Vuitton handbags, cake toppers, formal dresses and suits.
