Even though there are now hundreds of places to purchase fireworks, there are still a few things to keep in mind:
- Those purchasing fireworks must be 18 years of age or older. Those buying fireworks will pay an extra 5 percent excise tax at the register, in addition to regular state and local sales taxes.
- Fireworks enthusiasts are not allowed to set them off within 100 yards of a nuclear power plant or gasoline station and are liable for any damage they cause.
