Customers at a Chamblee IHOP restaurant will be in for a surprise Thursday.

Miss America 2016, Betty Cantrell, will be flipping and serving pancakes from 9 a.m. to noon at the restaurant, 5516 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., to benefit Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Instead of a tiara, the Georgia native, will don a chef's hat and apron for the event.

After kitchen duties, Cantrell will visit patients for a pancake party at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, which is the local beneficiary of IHOP’s National Pancake Day fundraising efforts.

Last year, more than $3.5 million was raised during National Pancake Day, which is March 8.

If you miss seeing Miss America, though, don’t despair - there’s a consolation prize.

On National Pankcake Day, IHOP resturants nationwide will give each guest a free short stack - that’s three pancakes - to raise awareness and funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Guests are invited to make a donation to their local children’s hospital.
