Delis are a staple in American dining and recently, a deli here in Georgia got a nod as one of the best in the nation.

A new list from the Food Network puts Muss & Turner's among the top 51 delis in the country.

The Smyrna deli is known for its pulled pork sandwiches and funky chicken.

“This Smyrna neighborhood joint masterfully merges concepts and cuisines,” the Food Network writes. “Operating as a deli by day and a bistro by night, Muss & Turner tweaks Southern specialties with Jewish tradition.”

The site also gave Muss & Turner’s props for its “Bucky Goldstein,” which combines brisket, pickles and onion rings, covered with barbecue sauce on a “mustard-slicked bun.”

Muss & Turner, 1675 Cumberland Pkwy SE Suite 309, Smyrna, has been open since 2005. Their goal is simple: "a neighborhood joint with no culinary boundaries and no pretense."

In addition to the deli location, the team behind Muss & Turner's recently opened a pizza place in Smyrna, MTH Pizza.

"If you like what we did with sandwiches at Muss & Turner's, you're going to love what we're doing with pizza," Co-owner Chris Hall  previously told the AJC.

Hall joined Todd Mussman and Ryan Turner in the endeavor.

Muss & Turner's previously had another location in East Cobb, but it has since closed.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
