LanierWorld is extending its summer season – by almost a month.

Why not stay open past Labor Day when the weather in Atlanta area is still plenty warm for enjoying the water?

"This year's a little different from years past," said Mike Williams, CEO of Lanier Islands, in an e-mail. "Labor Day weekend typically represents the end of the summer season for us at LanierWorld. However, due to popular demand and metro Atlanta's temperate climate – we have decided to extend the season nearly a full month longer than we are historically open."

Note on pricing at LanierWorld: the regular rate for LanierWorld is $41.99 per person until Sept. 5. Starting on weekends beginning on Sept. 9, the price drops in half to $21.50 per person (1/2 price). This discounted price runs through Oct. 1.
