Everything from the front door to the bathroom floors is up for grabs at a demolition sale of a home that once belonged to the Rich's family, founders of Atlanta's iconic Rich's Department Store.
Located at 27 West Street, N.W. in Buckhead, the demolition sale runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 5 through Saturday, May 7.
Built in 1927, the colonial-style home is filled with architectural gems such as vintage millwork, glass door knobs, Palladian windows, chandeliers and the original staircase and railings.
The sleek granite countertops, bathroom fixtures and fireplace mantels are all modern upgrades that are available for the taking. The kitchen is packed with high-end stainless steel appliances, including a Thermador cooktop, Bosch dishwasher and Decor warming drawer.
In the backyard, all items from wrought-iron fencing to shrubs will be for sale. Just bring your own tools and equipment to retrieve and haul what you buy.
EstateSales.net, the site promoting the sale, recommends that shoppers bring hard hats, protective eyewear, ladders, tools, heavy-duty gloves and protective footwear.
