Courtney and Randy Tilinski want Bungalow Classic, their airy and sophisticated Westside boutique, to be as inviting and comfortable as their home.

The store: Bungalow Classic opened in August 2000.

What makes our store different: Our store is very personal. We only buy items we would put in our own home.

The main goods: Beautiful yet comfortable upholstery from Courand and Verellen mixed in with new and antique case goods.

Known for: Stand-out lighting such as Patrice Bead Chandelier from Made Goods; decorative pillows from Tourmaline; and great accessories such as picture frames from Pigeon and Poodle.

Popular gift items: Anything from Match pewter, which is handmade in Italy.

Georgia artists we carry: Susan Hable art (Athens) and Clay McLaurin textiles (Atlanta).

Claim to fame: We were one of first retailers that Atlanta developer Michael Phillips recruited to the Westside 15 years ago. Things have changed since!

As seen in: Elle Décor and House Beautiful. Most recently, our home in Memorial Park was featured in the August issue of Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles.

Favorite:

- Atlanta home/design stores (other than our own): Pieces, plus Le Jardin Francais for amazing terrariums.

- Blogs and websites: Net-a-Porter; Mr. Porter; Mark D. Sikes blog; La Dolce Vita blog; Tory Daily (Tory Burch's blog); Quintessence blog; The Blue Remembered Hills blog; and The Peak of Chic.

- Magazines: Milieu; Architectural Digest; World of Interiors; Cabana; Porter; Elle Décor; Vogue; and Atlanta, Homes & Lifestyles.

- Instagram: Private GG; Carlos Souza; Debbie Tenquist (she posts amazing gardens); and Carlos Mota.

Places for (unusual) or great finds: Creel and Gow in New York City. Also, museum shops. They have the best books and prints.

Every room needs: Antiques, books and pets. We have three cats and are about to rescue a dog (maybe two)!

Design pet peeves: Bad paint color. It can ruin a room. Also a lack of any personal touches.

Current design obsession: Gilles et Boissier and Carrier and Co.; Suzanne Kasler's new additions to her collection with Hickory Chair; fashion collection (MDS Stripes by Mark D. Sikes); and the updated look of the Il Pelicano Hotel in Italy.

New (or re-emerging) looks we like: Patterned wallpaper. Bennison, Schumacher and Fornasetti are some favorites.

Looks we are glad to see go: Anything that is too industrial modern.

Tried and true tricks: Curtains and rugs will always complete a room and make it cozier.

Most unusual request: We don't find any request unusual in this business.

Biggest design mistake we have made: Storage planning. Not considering where everything (light bulbs, pet food, broom) will go.

Biggest design mistake homeowners make: Thinking that every wall needs to have some sort of art on it. It is OK to have some space.

Furniture, colors, etc. we would never use: Anything that is not comfortable. Mid-century modern is not normally a first choice for us.

Our personal style is: Classic with twist

Can't stop collecting or buying: Antique chairs and books.

Favorite pieces in our house: The stone lamps in our master bedroom.

Dream project: Like anyone in this industry: a boutique hotel.

Latest project: 1975 Clem Ford traditional home in Atlanta.

What's new: Our furniture collection, Courand. Five new pieces will arrive in the store at the end of August.
