Apartment hunting bringing you down? We get it.

With a median rent of $1,140 a month and an average of $1,237 for all property types, Atlanta has seen an increase of roughly 8.2 percent year-over-year and sits among the top cities nationwide for rent growth in 2015, according to RENTCafé, an online listing service.

Data from its sister company, YARDI Matrix—a business development tool—shows that the projected growth for Atlanta rent in 2016 is 6.8 percent.

In its Winter 2016 Multifamily Outlook report, YARDI Matrix examined factors such as economic expansion, renter demand, supply growth and the health of the city's capital markets.

As daunting as it may seem with the city's continuing rising rent growth, it's still possible to find a nice selection of rental bargains in Atlanta for below average rent per month–whether you're looking for high-rise living near the heart of downtown or a cozy unit in metro Atlanta's most desirable neighborhoods.
