Girls on the Run, a national nonprofit organization with chapters in metro Atlanta, is all about bringing its participants together for exercise and to build community.

However, with widespread cancellations and schools shuttering, Girls on the Run Atlanta has pivoted to offering digital programming.

This weekend, Girls on the Run Atlanta will hold a virtual 5K. It will kick off at 9 a.m. on Saturday with “warm ups and live content.”

At 10 a.m., participants can join a Zoom room to run with their team or stay home and do a “HIIT from Home” fitness class.

Then, throughout the day, Girls on the Run will post about inspiration, workouts, team cheers, awards and more on social media.

A full schedule of events can be found here.

In addition to the 5K, Girls on the Run has also been posting "Easy-to-follow lessons aimed to provide girls of all abilities with an opportunity to learn and grow just as they would have at their scheduled practices" online.
