Fresh-pressed juices featuring healthy ingredients like celery, jalapeños and watermelon are tasty on their own, but they can also be a disarmingly good contribution to cocktails thanks to their full flavor that is complex enough on its own.

And, of course, you can say your alcoholic drink at least has some health benefits.

Such is the case with New Amsterdam Vodka’s Austin-inspired cocktail made with ingredients that Central Texans love — including Topo Chico, a mineral water from Mexico, and JuiceLand punch, from a local juice shop with a variety of fresh-pressed juices and smoothies. The drink is spicy and vegetal thanks to the juice, which adds the most amount of flavor along with the garnish of lime chili salt.

The cocktail is also named for a key landmark in Austin, the Greenbelt. With more than 12 miles of trails, it’s considered one of the top hiking trails in Texas. Drink one of these cocktails while you’re out enjoying nature.

The Green Belt

1 1/2 oz. New Amsterdam 80 Proof Vodka

3 oz. Austin’s own JuiceLand Kale, Cucumber and Ginger Punch

1 1/2 oz. Topo Chico Mineral Water

Combine all ingredients together and shake well. Garnish with lime chili salt and a lime.
