Avalon, a popular mixed-use development in Alpharetta, is offering free yoga and barre classes April through October.
Every Wednesday at 6 p.m., Avalon (2200 Avalon Blvd, Alpharetta) will host free fitness classes with instructors from some of the shops and studios at Avalon.
The classes are held in the Plaza, Avalon’s central green space adjacent to Concierge and Regal. The fitness classes are part of what is known as “AvalOM,” a free event series that brings fitness classes from Avalon’s retailers to the community.
Most of these classes follow a barre or yoga-like format - something people can easily do with minimal props and their own body weight on a mat.

Run Avalon will not be returning for 2017, but if you're a pavement pounder, stay in shape for April 22. That's when the third annual Heart and Sole 5k goes down at Avalon. The main event is the 5K at 7:30 a.m. but there's a one mile Fun Run and a Tot Trot too. 5K runners will receive a t-shirt and at the end of the race, a Bloody Mary, because apparently it's never too early for Bloodies.
