Celebrate Galentine’s Day with sip and paint, floral arrangements at Avalon

Things to know about Galentine's Day Galentine's Day is a celebration of female friendship. It's typically celebrated on Feb. 13, the day before Valentine's Day. The creation of Galentine's Day is credited to a 2010 episode of "Parks and Recreation." The episode saw Amy Poehler's Leslie Knope gather her closest lady friends for a meal of waffles and a celebration of love. It's not a national holiday, but retailers including Walmart and Target fill their shelves with goods related to the celebration.

Grab your closest gal pals and visit Avalon to celebrate Galentine's Day this year.

The Alpharetta mixed-use development unveiled a list of activities fit for best friends to do on the day meant to salute female friendship.
