Bloomingdale’s debuts hashtag diamond ring

For that Twitter fan on your holiday shopping list, there’s finally the perfect gift.

A diamond hashtag ring.

Today reports that Bloomingdale's is offering the 18-karat gold social media-inspired bauble, complete with a diamond-encrusted hashtag. The ring, created by Khai Khai Jewelry, retails for $825.

The hashtag symbol is used to search for topics on Twitter.  Hashtag campaigns have become a popular way for users to sound off on controversial issues.

Twitter is attempting to make it easier for users to buy items directly from tweets with a buy button they introduced recently.
