Rockler Woodworking and Hardware in Sandy Springs wants people to tap into their inner craftsman.

The company is offering a series of hands-on project classes called, “Make & Take” where participants can build and take home a completed project in a few hours.

Think you don’t have the skills? It’s relatively simple to do.

Past projects have included an ice cream scoop with a turned handle and a wood-handle pocket knife.

In upcoming classes, participants will make a floating wall shelf and a decorative keepsake box. Children under 18 may attend but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and must sign a waiver.

The classes are being offered as part of National Woodworking Month. Each class costs $25, plus materials.

Class size is limited to as few as three participants. The classes, which last between two and three hours, will be held at 6690 Roswell Road. Suite 450.

Here are the remaining classes:

  • Sunday – Floating Wall Shelf – noon to 3 p.m.
  • April 24th – Keepsake Box – Learn basic box-building and finishing techniques . Noon to 3 p.m.   To register , go here.
