The Foothills Chapter of Trout Unlimited hopes to catch more than fish on March 19.

The organization hopes to land a few nice-size donations during its annual fundraiser, “Hoot on the Hooch.

The event will be held at 5 p.m. March 19 at the Helendorf River Inn & Conference Center, 33 Munich Strasse in Helen. Tickets are $30.

“Hoot on the Hooch” will include barbecue, bluegrass music, a silent auction and a bucket raffle.

The Foothills Chapter of Trout Unlimited’s mission is to conserve, protect and restore North America’s trout streams. This chapter primarily serves Habersham, White, Stephens, Banks and Hall counties.

The state has about 4,000 miles of trout streams, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ web site. There are more than 100,000 trout anglers in Georgia.
