Buckhead, already a glamorous shopping and dining destination, is getting a new luxury hotel and Japanese restaurant this summer, according to an announcement.

Signage for the Nobu Hotel & Restaurant was officially installed last week at Phipps Plaza, which is undergoing a larger redevelopment to also include an office building, a Citizens food hall and a Life Time athletic club.

The hotel will include 150 rooms, a rooftop pool, spa facilities and conference space, according to Simon. The restaurant will occupy 10,000 square feet, featuring new-style Japanese cuisine.

Nobu Hotels, founded by Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, combines modern luxury and minimal Japanese tradition into the concept of a lifestyle hotel, promising a curated experience at each location, according to its website.

It has operations spanning five continents, this being its first location in Atlanta.
