Families can enjoy one more moment of summer fun before Fulton County schools start again on Monday.

The city of Roswell is rolling out a 150-foot slip-and-slide for the first event of its kind this weekend.

The Slip & Slide Extravaganza is one of the final installments of the city's "Summer of Fun" event series, organized by the Recreation, Parks, Historic & Cultural Affairs Department.

"We're actually really excited about it," city employee Steven Malone told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "We've talked about doing something like this for years but never had the opportunity."

This Saturday, families can take a spin on the slide and enjoy free ice cream. There is no maximum capacity for the event, but free ice cream will be limited to the first 100-150 people, according to Malone.

Slip & Slide Extravaganza. 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 6. Free. Leita Thompson Memorial Park. 1200 Woodstock Road, Roswell.
