One of Atlanta's most fun fall festivals, the Little 5 Points Halloween Festival and Parade, delivers cool costumes, live music and mass revelry to the Little Five Points neighborhood.

If you missed the DragonCon parade, here's a pretty good alternative.

Festival date
Sat., Oct. 15

Festival hours
Noon-10 p.m.; parade kicks off at 4 p.m.

Festival location Euclid Avenue in Little Five Points

Parade route The parade will begin on Euclid Avenue at Austin Avenue, turn right on Moreland Avenue to the Wrecking Bar Brewpub, where it will U-turn and continue up Moreland to Freedom Parkway.

Parking Driving to the festival is not advised as parking is limited. To get to the festival, walk or take Uber or MARTA.

Taking MARTA The closest rail station to Little Five Points neighborhood is the Inman Park-Reynoldstown Station, but getting off the line there will require walking several blocks to the festival site. Several bus lines run through the area, including the 3 MLK/Candler Park via Barfield/Lake Avenue route, 6 from Inman Park Station and 102-Edgewood/Candler Park Station via Ponce de Leon. All three routes will be affected by the parade and the 3 route will be affected by the festival.

Traffic impact Euclid Avenue will be closed during the festival, and the parade route will be closed for much of the day. Expect traffic to be much heavier than normal in Little Five Points, and be wary of pedestrians darting through traffic. If you need to get around the festival site, stick to the roads closest to Candler Park to travel north-south and Freedom Parkway and DeKalb Avenue to go east-west.

Food This year's food vendors include Big Kev's BBQ, Delicious Finger Foods, Island Noodles, Pallookaville Fine Foods, King of Pops, Genki Noodles and Sushi, The Mobile Marlay and Tex's Tacos.

Music There will be two stages for live performances throughout the festival.

Artist market From handmade dog treats by Brixtix Bakery for Dogs to headwear from HATCORE.com to modern art from The Belligerent Monkey, the festival's artist market is filled with unique Atlanta vendors.

Expert advice Whatever you do, be sure to grab a spot for the parade. It's a don't-miss.
