Alisan Porter is not new to Hollywood. She gained fame as the title character in the 1991 movie "Curly Sue" and acted alongside Jim Belushi.
EOnline reported that Porter took some time off and started a family with husband Brian Autenrieth, and also had a few appearances on Broadway. She also was a singer in the band The Canyons. But now the singer is diving seriously into a singing career.
"I was an actress when I was very young," Porter said. "It's not my passion. This is my passion."
Look no further than "The Voice," where Porter got all four coaches -- Adam Levine, Pharrell, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton -- to turn their chairs.
"I was going through a hard time in life," she told coaches. "I actually got sober almost eight years ago. I fell in love and I had children and that was my goal. To just be a good mom."
Porter sang a soulful version of Linda Ronstadt's "Blue Bayou" and impressed the crowd with her high notes.
