Fox News CEO Roger Ailes has resigned from the network after he found himself facing sexual harasssment allegations.

Ailes' resignation was announced Thursday afternoon,  The Associated Press reported. Rupert Murdoch will assume the CEO position until a replacement is found.

Rumors that Ailes would resign have been swirling all week. The network is investigating the 76-year-old executive after former anchor Gretchen Carlson and others brought forth sexual harassment allegations.

Earlier Thursday, reports emerged about a potential deal. The details of the deal have not been verified.
