Not even a seven-nation army -- or a concert date -- could stop rocker Jack White from finishing Saturday night's 14-inning baseball game between the host Washington Nationals and the Milwaukee Brewers.
White, the former lead singer for White Stripes who now tours with his band, the Raconteurs, had a tour date in Washington, D.C., but made an early stop at Nationals Park, MLB.com reported.
Band members met with Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg, who takes the mound to the strains of White's signature song with White Stripes, "Seven Nation Army," the website reported.
The game began at 7:05 p.m., and White joined bandmates Brendan Benson, Jack Lawrence, Patrick Keeler and Dean Fertita in a luxury suite MLB.com reported. However, the band had to leave to make their concert date less than an hour later, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
The game was still in progress when the concert ended, not because the Raconteurs played a quick show, but because the Nationals and Brewers were tied in extra innings. White and Benson returned to the stadium in the 13th inning to watch the final innings of the Brewers' 15-14 victory, the Journal Sentinel reported.
