First the world tour, now the band. Zayn Malik has left One Direction.
The rest of the group made the announcement on their Facebook page.
They posted, "After five incredible years Zayn Malik has decided to leave One Direction. Niall, Harry, Liam and Louis will continue as a four-piece and look forward to the forthcoming concerts of their world tour and recording their fifth album, due to be released later this year."
In less than an hour, the post had almost 48,000 comments and nearly 100,000 likes on Facebook.
