The Woodruff Arts Center’s new permanent installation will provide some sweet tunes for patrons who visit the space.

A public piano, named “Carly,” was unveiled during a ceremony on Sifly Piazza on Sunday, Aug. 21.

Paintings on the new piano include butterflies which were painted by local art teachers and students from Springmont.

“Carly” was created by Play Me Again Pianos as one of several public pianos that will soon be available throughout Atlanta.

The first installation is on display in Chastain Park. An additional piano will be delivered to the Woodruff Arts Center in September.  Public pianos are also expected to pop up at Colony Square.

Play Me Again Pianos is a Georgia nonprofit organization that installs and permanently maintains pianos that are accessible to the public.
