Small Fall Music Festival
Atlanta Music Education has found a new home at the Kingfisher Academy in Tucker and is inviting the public to come out and meet the new teachers and hear students showcase their talents. Along with the music, there will be kid-friendly games, prizes, pumpkin bowling, craft vendors and a costume contest. Attendees are invited to come in costume and bring an instrument, if they have one.

Southeastern Cowboy Festival and Symposium
Discover the lives of the cowboys without having to buy a set of spurs. The Booth Western Art Museum offers a glimpse into the way it was during this three-day event. The fun kicks off Oct. 24 with an evening of networking and cocktails. Oct. 25 opens with a writing workshop hosted by the Booth Writer’s Guild and an oil painting workshop with artist Krystii Melaine. Also on tap: gunfight re-enactments, a trading post, pottery-making and blacksmithing demonstrations, traditional Native American dancing, frontier-era photography, a children’s parade, and a Sunday morning concert by Suzy Bogguss and Cowboy Church.

Owl-O-Ween Hot Air Balloon Festival
There’s a lot of hot air around Kennesaw this weekend — in balloons. This not-so-scary festival floats a variety of hot air balloons that attendees can ride in for a fee. The main event is the Balloon Glow, a choreographed show of more than 20 glowing balloons at 7 p.m. Oct. 25 and 6.p.m. Oct. 26. Other fun attractions include a costume contest with prizes and exhibits by local artists. Adults can indulge in the Oktoberfest beer garden, serving a range of craft beers and specialty foods.
