Bread & Butterfly opens

Bread & Butterfly, the new spot from Billy and Kristin Allin of Cakes & Ale in Decatur and Proof Bakeshop in Inman Park, soft-opened at Inman Quarter on Dec. 18. The Allins call the restaurant and wine bar a European cafe-bistro, meaning it will be open from 7 a.m. until 11 p.m. most days, serving espresso, baked goods from Proof, and a menu of savory dishes from executive chef Bryan Stoffelen. O-Ku on Atlanta’s Westside

O-Ku Atlanta opened on Dec. 17 in the Westside Ironworks building on Howell Mill Road. Executive chef Jackie Chang, formerly of Umi in Buckhead, is in the kitchen at the upscale modern Japanese concept from the Indigo Road Restaurant Group, which opened Colletta in early 2015 and Oak Steakhouse in late 2014 at Avalon in Alpharetta. RReal Tacos in Midtown

RReal Tacos from the former chef de cuisine of the Spence, Adrian Villarreal, opened at the corner of Juniper Street and Sixth Street in Midtown on Dec. 16. At the heart of the menu, $2.99 tacos served on soft corn tortillas with organic cilantro, onion and lime, including the likes of Pork Trompo, Adobo Grilled Chicken, Grilled Fish, Beef Barbacoa, and Fried Avocado. Chris Edwards helms H&F

Resurgens Hospitality Group has named Chris Edwards the new executive chef at Holeman and Finch Public House, known as the birthplace of the famous H&F Burger. Edwards served as chef de cuisine at Holeman and Finch, and before that, sous chef at Restaurant Eugene.
