Wienerz Factory in Marietta is a USDA-inspected facility known for producing quality European and American-style deli meats and sausages, including the likes of Red Brick beer brats and grass-fed beef hot dogs available exclusively at metro Whole Foods stores.

The recently reopened Grill and Deli offers easy one-stop shopping for Wienerz bargain-priced meats, salads and other victuals, as well as a small dining area where you can settle in for a quick bite.

The look: Located on an industrial stretch of Atlanta Road, near Dobbins Air Force base, most of  the space houses the Wienerz butcher shop and smokehouse. In the neat, cheery storefront, glass cases filled with fresh and smoked sausages, salami, bacon, ham, roast beef and turkey display the bounty of products made in-house.

The scene: Behind the cases and order counter, there’s a simple food-prep area with grills and panini presses. One afternoon, a solitary counterman served as friendly menu guide, cook and cashier, while a steady flow of customers kept the few scattered tables occupied through the lunch rush.

The menu: The concise menu features classic cold deli sandwiches, such as double-smoked Swiss Alpine ham ($5.49) or New York pastrami ($5.69), with a choice of bread, condiments and a bag of chips. Grilled panini ($5.99) range from chicken pesto to a cheesy stuffed Reuben. The popular Thuringer bratwurst ($5.49) and the snappy, natural casing Wienerz Hotlanta Frank Dog ($4.99) come on a grilled bakery bun.

The Drinks: Wash down your sandwich or dog down with bottled water, canned soft drinks or self-serve sweet or unsweet iced tea.

The extras: After Weinerz,  check out Bernhard’s Bread Bakery, situated at the other end of the building. The German bake shop offers over a dozen different fresh loafs, including rustic rye, spelt and pretzel bread, plus desserts, pastries and prepared foods.
