Tyler Perry offers to rebuild burned home
Atlanta TV and movie mogul Tyler Perry has offered to rebuild the home of a great-grandmother who lost everything in a fire, according to an article on wsbtv.com.
On Tuesday, 88-year-old Rosa Lee Ransby and her 4-year-old great-granddaughter escaped a fire that destroyed her home of 40 years. Coweta County firefighters began soliciting for donations from anyone they could find, and dozens of calls came in. With the community’s help, Ransby was climbing up the stairs to a new home just 48 hours after the fire.
“It’s just good, you know. I didn’t think I had no friends, but I found out I got some,” Ransby said in the wsbtv.com article.
And after Channel 2 Action News’ coverage of the fire aired, Perry visited Ransby’s neighborhood Thursday afternoon and pledged to rent her a house for a year, pay for the utilities, buy her furniture and build a new home on her property.
“It’s made my Christmas. I’ve been doing this a long time, seen a lot of bad things come and go but this is special,” Coweta Fire Chief Todd Moore said.
