Michael Jackson has died, according to several Los Angeles media outlets.

Jackson was rushed to a hospital earlier this afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Times and several TV stations.

Capt. Steve Ruda with the Los Angeles Fire Department told the Los Angeles Times paramedics responded to a call at the 50-year-old pop star's home around 3:30 p.m. EDT. He was not breathing when they arrived and paramedics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told The Times.

An anonymous law enforcement source told the Times that Jackson's family was arriving at his bedside shortly before reporting his death.

Janet Jackson, the pop star's younger sister, has been shooting "Why Did I Get Married Too?" here in Atlanta with director Tyler Perry. The AJC is trying to determine if Jackson is working today or if she has left the city to fly back to Los Angeles.

Six soldiers were honored, each receiving Meritorious Service Medals, Thursday for heroic actions responding to the shooting at Fort Stewart. “One of the things I can say unequivocally is that the fast action of these soldiers — under stress and under trauma and under fire — absolutely saved lives from being lost,” U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll told reporters as the six soldiers stood near him Thursday. “They are everything that is good about this nation.” (Hyosub Shin/AJC)
