It was the marriage of legend - the King of Rock and Roll and his young bride. But what caused the breakup of the marriage between Elvis and Priscilla Presley?

Elvis' former wife finally opened up what caused her to leave the relationship only six years after she said "I do" in a lavish Las Vegas wedding.

Presley said it was because they "lived in a bubble," Huffington Post reported.

That bubble was the landmark home of Elvis - Graceland.

"He didn't really go out, he didn't like eating in restaurants because people would take pictures of him and he didn't want to be shot eating with a fork in his mouth," Presley said.

She said that while she did leave the relationship, it wasn't because they didn't love each other, despite the 10-year age difference. She said he was the love of her life, but she needed to see what life outside of the bubble was like, Newser reported.

Presley started dating Elvis when she was 14. They married after she turned 21. Nine months after their wedding, their only daughter, Lisa Marie, was born.

The divorce was amicable, with Presley saying that the former couple left the court holding hands after their marriage was dissolved.
