Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson and the county's police department have released an official statement on icon Prince's death.
Police said the musician was found unresponsive in an elevator in his home studio.
"First responders attempted to provide lifesaving CPR, but were unable to revive him," the statement said. "He was pronounced deceased at 10:07 a.m."
