Grammy award-winning jazz trumpeter Terence Blanchard will headline the 18th annual Jazz Under the Stars concert, planned for 7 p.m. May 7 on the Harkness Hall quad at Clark Atlanta University. A film score composer whose soundtrack credits include "Mo' Better Blues," "Malcolm X," "When the Levees Broke," and "The Princess and the Frog," Blanchard will perform along with members of the CAU Jazz Vocal Ensemble and the Jazz Orchestra. The event will benefit the CAU Guild, which has raised nearly $2 million in scholarships since 1992. Tickets start at $60 each, and sponsorships are available. Usher and his two sons were spotted at the Center for Puppetry Arts on Tuesday. The R&B singer dropped off the kids and their nanny for the show...Queen Latifah evidently likes the Ansley Mall CVS. She has been spotted there numerous times since she's been in town shooting "Joyful Noise," also starring Dolly Parton...And Shia LaBeouf digs the Peachtree City Ted's Montana Grill. In town shooting "The Wettest County in the World," a film about Depression-era moonshiners, the actor has been seen there a few times lately.

Buzz in our ear

We spend a fair amount of time chasing down tips about who's filming what, when and where. (If you spot a camera crew and wonder what's going on, tweet us at @ajcBuzz and we'll try to find out). Often it's a movie or television show in production, but not always. The film crews setting up at The Atlantic condo building at Atlantic Station Tuesday were shooting promos for The Weather Channel with meteorologist Crystal Egger. You can look for those in coming months. Atlantic Station also plays the role of San Diego for the BET series "The Game," which has just been picked up for a fifth season.

Gala stirs support for charity

The "Shaken, Not Stirred" gala, held recently, raised $131,000 for the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance. Heidi Barron and Tammy Lucia served as co-chairs. Channel 2 anchor Monica Pearson, who is a breast cancer survivor, served as emcee.
