Tila "Tequila" Nguyen called the San Diego Sherriff's Department early Sunday morning, alleging that she was choked and physically restrained by a man when she tried to leave his home, ET confirms.

At 3:45 a.m., the San Diego Sheriff's Department responded to a disturbance call made by the MTV reality star, who alleged that her assailant was San Diego Chargers' linebacker Shawne Merriman.

Merriman claims he did not harm Nguyen but says she appeared to be intoxicated and he was concerned for her to drive, he said in a statement to the Associated Press. He also said in the statement that when paramedics were called out to the house they did not report any signs of injury on Nguyen.

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors. And while Atlanta wasn't included in Trump's list, the city fits that profile under Mayor Andre Dickens. (Photo Illustration: Philip Robibero / AJC | Source: Getty)
