Janet Jackson's team said Wednesday the singer would release a statement after a report surfaced about possible health concerns, and she released a video a short time later.
At the end of the video, which shows the lyrics to her song, is this written message:
"Remember… believe it when you hear it from my lips.
The rumors are untrue.
I do not have cancer.
I'm recovering.
The doctors have approved my concerts asscheduled in Europe, and as I promised, the postponed shows will be rescheduled.
Thank you for your prayers and love."
A short time before the video was posted, Jackson's team said she would release a statement.
Jackson's fans were worried and disappointed when she announced on Christmas Eve that impending surgery would cause her to postpone her "Unbreakable" tour.
A report spread that doctors discovered a tumor on Jackson’s vocal cords and that she was undergoing tests for throat cancer.
RadarOnline.com quoted a "source close to the singer" saying Jackson's medical condition "has to be taken care of immediately."
Jackson performed at sold-out shows through September but was forced to postpone shows in October because of vocal stress.
In her Christmas Eve announcement of the tour postponement, Jackson asked for prayers from fans and ended her website post with “Gon’ b alright.”
