Holiday shows keep coming as we bid farewell to 'Boston Legal'

It's a wonderful life on TV as the holiday-themed shows keep on coming.

You've got animated specials with Danny DeVito (NBC on Wednesday), the comic stylings of Tom Arnold on CMT Friday and yes, the obligatory Christmas-themed "House" episode Tuesday.

And bid farewell (for now) to "The Starter Wife," "Dexter" and "Survivor" until 2009.

MONDAY

"Chuck" 8 p.m. NBC — Gary Cole guest stars as Sarah's squirrelly dad.

"The Big Bang Theory" 8 p.m. CBS — Sara Rue's Stephanie and Leonard seem to be moving fast. Maybe too fast.

"How I Met Your Mother" 8:30 p.m. CBS — Barney is usually suave but seldom in a fist-fighting sort of mood — but now he has to impress Robin.

"Boston Legal" 9 p.m. ABC (two-hour series finale) — Say goodbye to Crane Pool & Schmidt after five wacky seasons.

TUESDAY

"America's Funniest Home Videos" 8 p.m. ABC — This holiday-themed special will likely feature lots of Santas slipping, sliding and getting hit in the you know where.

"House" 8 p.m. Fox — It's a Christmas episode so how Grinch-like will House be?.

"Shatner's Raw Nerve" 10 p.m. Bio — We're sure William Shatner's nerves will be on edge interviewing porn star Jenna Jameson.

"Eli Stone" 10 p.m. ABC — Having exhausted the George Michael songs, Seal pops up.

"A Double Shot At Love" 10 p.m. MTV (season debut) — No more Tila Tequila. Welcome bi-sexual twins Vikki & Rikki!

WEDNESDAY

"Little Spirit: Christmas in New York" 8 p.m. NBC — Animated special featuring Danny DeVito as a cabbie telling a Christmas story to two young girls that's a little freaky.

"Private Practice" 9 p.m. ABC — Charlotte opens a rival practice and the battle for patients is on!

"Tyler Perry's House of Payne" 10 p.m. TBS — Calvin and Miranda argue over Calvin's ownership of the barbership, then at 10:30, the Paynes get new neighbors..

"Top Chef: New York" 10 p.m. Bravo — The remaining chefs have to cook for Gail Simmons' wedding shower. Will she be a bridezilla on the poor contestants?

THURSDAY

"Survivor" 8 p.m. CBS — Can lovable Bob survive in the face of long odds? And will Kenny's cockiness come back to hurt him?

"CSI" 9 p.m. CBS — Grissom gives way to his replacement played by Lawrence Fishburne.

"The Office" 9 p.m. NBC — Phyllis' Moroccon-themed party goes up in flames literally thanks to Meredith.

"30 Rock" 9:30 p.m. NBC — Poor Liz Lemon's parents skip out on her so she decides to help a children's charity.

"Sarah Silverman Program" 10:30 p.m. Comedy Central (season finale) — Sarah announces her engagement — to her dog.

FRIDAY

"Greatest Holiday Moments: Songs of the Season Countdown" 8 p.m. NBC — Some of the best Christmas song performances such as Bing Crosby's 'White Christmas" and John Lennon's "Happy Xmas."

"The Flight Before Christmas" 9 p.m. CBS — Norm McDonald is a voice in this animated special about a reindeer who wants to fly like his dad.

"12 Days of Redneck Christmas" 9 p.m. CMT — Tom Arnold hosts so that's a warning to ya.

"2008 Family Entertainment Awards" 9 p.m. the CW — Tyler James Williams hosts. Miley Cyrus, who does seem to like to appear on awards shows, pops in.

"Starter Wife" 10 p.m. USA (season finale) — Will Molly stick with Zach or not?

WEEKEND

"A Miser Brothers Christmas" 8 p.m. Saturday. ABC Family — Heat Miser and Snow Miser are bickering, threatening Christmas.

"Will You Merry Me?" 9 p.m. Saturday. Lifetime — Wendy Malick of "Just Shoot Me" fame stars in this film about an engaged couple meeting future in-laws.

"The Naked Brothers Band" 9 p.m. Saturday. Nickelodeon — Nat and Alex feel Grinch-like until they meet a homeless boy.

"Survivor: Gabon" 8 p.m. Sunday. CBS (season finale) — Sugar has been far more wily than perceived earlier. Can she win it all?

"Ruby" 8 p.m. Sunday. Style — Ruby goes on vacation and oh, the calories beckon!

"Dexter" 9 p.m. Sunday. Showtime (season finale) — Dexter preps to get married now that Miguel is out of the picture.

"Californication" 10 p.m. Sunday. Showtime (season finale) — The birth of Sonja's baby will mark a turning point for Hank and Karen.
