SUWANEE
“Hairspray” at Suwanee Town Center Park
Broadway not only comes to the burbs, it gets an outdoor presentation to boot. It’s the fifth anniversary of Suwanee Performing Arts’ “Broadway in the Park” event. To mark the occasion, the popular musical “Hairspray” comes to life. Kids will soak up the preceding show, “Rapunzel’s Twist.” This mini-musical reimagines the classic fairy tale with a ’60s soundtrack and stays in step with “Hairspray’s” musical style. If you’re planning on attending, you can go online and bid on the Most Outrageous Seat in the House, a front-row-center living room set featuring sofas and a coffee table with enough room for six to eight people.
7 p.m. July 29 and 30. Free. Suwanee Town Center Park, 370 Buford Highway, Suwanee. 770-821-7654, www.suwaneeperformingarts.org.
