CANTON
Canton Farmers Market at Cannon Park
It’s all about buying local at the Canton Farmers Market. The open-air shopping experience returns for its fourth year. About 65 vendors will be setting up shop each Saturday through September near the park’s gazebo. Shoppers can stock up on fresh produce, breads, honey, fresh flowers and oodles more. Crafts take up booth space, too, including jewelry, wood carvings, bird houses and candles. Live music rings out in the morning air. Folk and country performer Jordan Grassy and band provide the soundtrack at this kickoff event.
8 a.m.-noon. May 12 and every Saturday through September. Free. Cannon Park, 130 E. Main St., Canton. 770-704-1548, www.cantonhdl.com.

FAIRBURN
“A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” at Southside Theatre Guild
The ancient Roman comedy writing of Plautus goes vaudeville in this classic Stephen Sondheim musical. The slave Pseudolus (Diane Mitchell) tries to play Cupid in order to earn freedom. “Forum” has all of the standard-issue qualities a comedy of errors needs, including farce, mistaken identity and puns. It’s the last weekend to catch this show before it disappears like the Roman Empire.
