Midtown Restaurant Week at various restaurants
Foodie fanatics need to arm themselves with forks and get ready to gorge. The sixth annual edition of this bargain meal experience stays on course. Make that a trio of courses. Participating Midtown eateries are offering three course meals for $25 or $35 per person. Locales range from spots at Atlantic Station to those along Peachtree Street’s Midtown drag and beyond. More than 30 restaurants are serving these specials including 4th & Swift, Livingston Restaurant & Bar, Straits, Table 1280 and The Nook on Piedmont Park. Alpharetta Art in the Park Artists Market in downtown area
This monthly event is reaching its homestretch, so art lovers may need to get cracking. Taking place the first full weekend of each month from April to October, Alpharetta Art in the Park finds approximately 30 to 40 artists collecting their creativity for a two-day sale. Metal work, pottery, photography, fine oil and acrylic paintings are just a few of the goods on site. Everything boasts the distinction of being handcrafted. Gallery 35, located at 35 Milton Avenue, sponsors the series and houses its own handmade creations. The booths line Main Street and Milton Avenue. Alpharetta Art in the Park takes place rain or shine.

Beauty on the Wing: Butterflies Bringing Plants to Life at Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center
When it comes to kid-friendly iconography, butterflies are right up there with unicorns and flowers. Yet they are so much more than fluttering creatures of color. Tots have the opportunity to learn more about these kid-friendly insects with this seminar. Guests walk away with a head full of knowledge about butterflies and how they pollinate. The event also allows young ones to use their newfound butterfly smarts at home. Explore the insides of flowers, make your own caterpillar and plant some milkweed for your own backyard. Program is included with center admission.
