Off the Hook at Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center

The Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center has the hookup. For hook rugs, that is. It’s a one-time exhibition of 220 hook rugs created by more than 50 artists. Among those featured is Beverly Goodrich of Gainesville, a folk artist who shares her talents with the residents of an orphanage in Honduras, teaching them how to rug hook. You’ll see rugs depicting portraits, some showing family history and others featuring popular contemporary rug-hooking styles. The exhibit is included with museum admission.

9 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays. Through June 30. $5.50-$10.50. Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center, 2020 Clean Water Drive, Buford. 770-904-3500, www.gwinnettehc.org.
