Actress Shannen Doherty shaves head amidst cancer battle, shares on social media

Actress Shannen Doherty is sharing one of the most challenging aspects of her cancer battle with her fans and followers on social media.

People reported that Doherty, who publicly revealed her breast cancer battle in August 2015, posted photos of herself in the process of shaving her head.

The former "Beverly Hills: 90210" and "Charmed" actress shared five steps of the process in black and white photos on her Instagram page Wednesday.

The first post hinted at what was to come.

Doherty was not alone in the process. She had her mother, Rosa Doherty, and a friend, model Anne Marie Kortright, by her side.
