Acclaimed TV and film director Garry Marshall died Tuesday from pneumonia complications after he suffered a stroke, his publicist confirmed. He was 81.

Celebrities took to social media to pay tribute to Marshall, best known for his work on "Happy Days," "Pretty Woman" and "The Princess Diaries."
