Monsters, flying ghosts and a host of terrifying creatures await those brave enough to enter the dark at the attraction Haunt World ranks as the No. 1 haunted house of all time, Netherworld.
The Norcross attraction is back for its 19th year with two haunts.
In the Rotting, Armies of spirits have escaped from the Netherworld and are draining the life from humans, turning them into zombie-like creatures called The Rotting! A paranormal investigation team has discovered the supernatural source of The Rotting, but they fear the cure may be worse than the disease.

Some of the immersive new sets and environments include: The Tombs of Whysburg, The Ghoul Tunnels, The Arena of Ghosts, and The Alien Flesh Lab.
Downstairs, another new haunt awaits. In Vault 13: Unearthed, a secret government base, buried deep below the earth, has been reactivated by an unknown force. Now, guests must descend into Vault 13 and discover the truth, before the hideous experiments and weird creatures are released to the surface world. The new horrors include- The Elevator of Death, The Toxic Foam, The Grotesque Hatchling and The Mighty Torg.
But before visitors can dive into the depths of the Netherworld, the attraction must undergo a transition. In the hour before Netherworld opens, 100 actors transform from regular people into the freaks and fiends that bring terror around every corner.
"We have to make 100 actors into monsters," co-owner Ben Armstrong told wsbtv.com's Nelson Hicks. "It's crazy, they go to casting, they go to wardrobe, they go to makeup. We do everything to make them crazy and it's so quick. People are darting everywhere but it becomes like a well-oiled machine."
Armstrong noted Netherworld is home to over 4,000 costumes and hundreds of high-end masks. Ten makeup artists are on site nearly every night for the transformation.
Netherworld is open nightly thru Nov. 1. It's open Nov. 6 and 7, too.
