Rihanna’s documentary set to stream on Amazon after the tech giant reportedly paid $25 million for worldwide rights. The move follows Apple TV+ dropping the same amount of funds for Billie Ellish’s documentary.

Sources told the Hollywood Reporter about the reported purchase for the untitled project, which is directed by Peter Berg.

Streaming on Amazon Prime at an unknown date, it’s described as an unfiltered look into Rihanna's life. It gives a peek inside how the Bajan singer grew from pop star to founder of brands like Fenty Beauty and Savage Fenty. The feature contains unparalleled access into the singer’s life with more than 1,200 hours of footage. It captures the star’s behind-the-scenes life with family, friends and work.

Amazon has not commented.

But Berg has previously remarked on the project.

"That was a fun change of pace," he said in 2017. "'After Lone Survivor' and 'Deepwater' and 'Patriots Day,' where all these men run around with guns, to go travel with Rihanna around Europe, and Rihanna is surrounded by girls. We were in Nice [France]. She was going to do a concert on Bastille Day."

The film follows the release of another image-heavy project: "The Rihanna Book." It's a collection of 1,000 photos snapped over the course of five years. They include intimate photos of the star's early beginnings on the eastern most Caribbean island and backstage moments with her mother.
