Atlanta is a booming and evolving area. The population rose to 5.7 million in 2015 and doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. For example, one of the largest increases in population was in Fulton County where the population rose from 996,319 in 2014 to 1,010,562 in 2015. With such a large influx of residents comes wealth and spending. The elite choosing to call home in these most expensive areas in North Fulton.
Chastain Park
This neighborhood revolves around the 268-acre Chastain Park, and it is as affluent as it is gorgeous. According to Zillow, the median home value is $1,016,200. There is a lot to keep its residents busy like swimming, tennis, musical events at the amphitheater and golfing. However, this comfortable lifestyle does not come cheap. "Chastain Park home values have gone up 11.7% over the past year and it is predicted they will rise 5.9% within the next year," Zillow states.
Milton
Milton has a small-town country feel, but there is nothing down home about the cost of living there. The median home value in Milton is $510,500. The area is scenic, rural and peaceful, but is also more than 30 miles out of the city. As with most Atlanta and surrounding areas, the price is escalating in Milton as well. The cost of living in Milton is 46 percent higher than the state average, according to Areavibes.com.
Sandy Springs
A lot of families are flocking to Sandy Springs because of its good schools, activity options, family oriented community events and beautiful parks. "The income levels and cost of living in Sandy Springs are well above the national average," Great American Country states. So it is no surprise that the median home value here is $445,700.
Alpharetta
Last year Alpharetta was voted one of the 10 snobbiest cities in Georgia by Roadsnacks.com. With its immaculate streets, plentiful shopping, trendy restaurants and luxury accommodations, this town has a right to be snobbish. Home values here have "gone up 8.7% over the past year to $377,900 and they will jump again another 4.8% within the next year," Zillow predicts.
Johns Creek
The residents in Johns Creek seem to love it, they have access to a plethora of leisure activities, including hiking at Autrey Mills Nature Preserve or fishing along the banks of the Chattahoochee. According to the 24/7 Wall St. list that put it as the third best place to live in America, "The median annual household income in Johns Creek is nearly $100,000, roughly double the state's median income." Being one of the safest cities in Georgia, it makes sense that it is one of the most expensive places to live in North Fulton. "The median price of homes currently listed in Johns Creek is $469,900," according to Zillow.
