Channel 2 Action News on WSB-TV is airing a 30-minute special "The Last Days of MLK" using archival footage from the TV station on the eve of the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s death.

It airs at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21.

Using rarely-seen footage, the special follows his final days before his assassination in Memphis where he was supporting striking black sanitation workers.and prepping for the Poor People’s Demonstration.

The special includes his meetings in Memphis, his impromptu final speech, the breaking news of his shooting and the days leading up to his funeral on April 9, 1968.
