Former CNN president Jon Klein told Fox News' Megyn Kelly that he hopes cable networks stop paying campaign surrogates as experts on panels.

"I hope this can be the death now for the surrogates that all the news networks employ,” Klein said yesterday.

His comments came in the wake of former CNN commentator Donna Brazile allegedly feeding advance debate questions to the Hillary Clinton campaign. CNN cut ties with her last month.

“I can tell you that nothing is taken more seriously within the walls of CNN … than issues around the integrity of the place," said Klein, who ran CNN out of Atlanta from 2004 to 2010.

CNN has also been criticized for using Donald Trump's former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, who was for a time paid by both Trump and CNN at the same time.
